Manager, Cost Management

What do you do in your job?
I manage the cost management team, providing guidance and ensuring that our customers’ needs are met.  Our mission is to calculate the value of our domestic inventory. To do this, we manage our inventory valuation systems, provide policy and procedural guidance to inventory holders, provide inventory-reporting metrics, manage reserves, and more. I ensure that our team has the right work environment and tools to get the job done.

How would you describe life at The Toro Company?
We are an international company with a hometown feel.  As a company, we work very hard to maintain a culture that celebrates longevity and creates a respectful and tolerant working environment.  We’re treated as though we’re the company’s most valued resource.  We also get the training, tools and leadership to get our jobs done, along with the freedom to improve our jobs when we feel the need.

How is it different from your experiences at other companies?
I’ve found that many companies talk about people first, but they fail to back it up.  Toro walks the talk, with the training and leadership to keep our “people-first” culture on the forefront of everyone’s mind.

What makes your career fulfilling?
The people here make my career fulfilling.  That includes everyone from the CEO on down.  They all add to the culture and help make every day a good day at Toro.
